About Us North West Safety Initiative (NWSi). This is group interested in improving construction safety and drawing together the efforts of the three safety groups within the North West region, namely, The Merseyside and Cheshire Construction Safety Group, North West Construction Safety Group and the Construction Design and Management Support Group. Jointly these three groups are attended by over 400 organisations and individuals involved in construction.
The NWSi, an organisation which supports construction health and safety in the North West of England, and is pleased to announce the 10th Seminar, to be held in October 2009.
The NWSi has organised many seminars for the construction industry, all being supported by the industry.
The Seminar Organising Committee
Just a little bit of information about the members of the organising committee:
Graham O'Neill (Chair)
Graham is the Safety Director for John Reilly Civil Engineering Ltd. He is also Secretary of the North West Safety Initiative and he is currently chairing this years Safety Seminar Group. He is the past Chair of the Merseyside and Cheshire Construction Safety Group.
Jayne Stephens (Seminar Secretary)
North West Regional Director for Health and Safety Click, an online Risk Management Tool giving guidance and support to SME's nationally on both Health and Safety and Employment Law. Previously Jayne was a Work Place Contact Officer with the HSE based in the Merseyside Area Office. Currently Honorary Secretary for the Merseyside Occupational Health and Safety Group (MOHASG).
Ian Crowe (NWSi Seminar Treasurer)
Ian is the Principal Health and Safety Adviser for Warrington Borough Council. He has been actively involved in many health and safety groups in the Northwest and is currently the Treasurer for the Merseyside and Cheshire Construction Safety Group, and he has been the driving force behind the seminars since 1993.
Stephanie Lowdon
Stephanie is the Occupational Health and Safety Manager for Blackpool Council, and has previously played an active role in many health and safety networking and support groups within the Northwest region. Stephanie has been involved in delivering NWSi seminars since 1998.
Alison Entwistle
Alison currently works for herself however she worked in Local Government for over 15 years and was actively involved with Construction Groups in the North West for a number years. Alison was NW Regional Representative for the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) representing the Region at the National Management Group.
Wayne Crumpton
Wayne is a Health and Safety Executive Principal Construction Inspector for Merseyside and Cheshire, based in the Liverpool HQ.
Many of the above people have been involved with the previous seminars and all of them have their own part to play in making the event successful.
